No Cold Water in Shower, Fixed
After yesterday's missing hot water got fixed, we ended up with no cold water in our shower+bathtub. We had cold water in the rest of the apartment, just not the bathing facilities. 'Called Forward Management in the morning, and ~1 hour later we had a maintenance guy in who fixed it. Pretty speedy.

Temporary Phases of Reduced Cold Water Pressure
A maintenance issue that is difficult to replicate: sometimes, when someone in the building flushes their toilet, or uses the shower (or ?something?), our cold water pressure throughout the entire apartment is cut dramatically. If this happens while you're washing dishes, it's practically a burn hazard as the hot water takes over almost completely. In the video below, I show the rather large difference between the cold water pressure and hot water pressure during one of these temporary depressions. After some amount of time (suspiciously the amount of time it takes for a toilet water tank to refill), the cold water pressure usually returns to normal. That is, until someone else in the building flushes a toilet.
The water pressure didn't always use to do this. We suspect it started happening sometime in September 2013, after the loud rattling pipes were fixed.

Re: issues with Forward Management
The day after publishing the last post about Forward Management losing track of our rent payment, I received an apology email from our account manager which was thoughtful.

Forward Management Review: STILL Wrong Over Late Rent
Well, I thought we'd resolved this issue last month, but it turns out I was mistaken. This time around, Forward Management sent along a statement, so I could see exactly what payments they'd recorded and compare to my bank statements. It turns out that a $30 credit in late October (because they couldn't charge us for heat we didn't get) is causing the weird '$20 past due' number. Combine that with the fact that they lost our December rent payment (despite my bank showing that the check was cut 11/14/14 and deposited 11/18/14).
So, after an email conversation with our account handler, I forwarded a screenshot of the deposited check and hopefully this erroneous late payment is finally resolved. Maybe. If we're lucky.

Forward Management Pittsburgh Incorrect Over Late Rent
We received the following letter from Forward Management, stating that our bill of $875 is past due. However, (1) our rent is $855, so this is $20 off, and (2) our rent is paid automatically by our bank three weeks in advance (on the 15th) of every month in order to avoid ever being late. Where the extra $20 came from is unknown, as the late fee is $50.
I called Forward Management and left a message. Our account handler called us and blamed the error on the new accounting system. The new system may not be any better than the old one as the number appears made up and the rent was not actually late at all, but three weeks early.
"Thank you for your recent payment(s).
Please be aware that your account is currently past due in the amount of: $875. You need to submit this amount no later than 1/05/2015 to avoid any additional charges to your account.
Per your lease, late fees of $50.00 are charged on the 6th of each month to anyone who owes $25.00 or more on his or her account.
If you feel you have received this letter in error, please contact us immediately so that we can resolve these matters for you.
It is possible that we may require you to submit a receipt or cleared check showing as proof you paid due to the changes in our rental payment system. Please be prepared to submit this information in the event that we should need it.
We thank you for your time and prompt attention on these matters.
Sincerely,
Forward Management

Upstairs Ceiling Leak
Absolutely cannot get enough bathroom ceiling leaks! Here's one caused by our upstairs neighbor. Toilet water? A sink? One can hope.
Blech.
